ADC Accuses Tinubu’s Government of Manipulating Infrastructure Report to Hide Bias

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised concerns over what it describes as the manipulation of infrastructure data by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. According to the party, the government is using misleading reports to deflect mounting criticism about nepotism and regional favoritism.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, accused the government of presenting skewed information under the guise of transparency. He argued that the recently unveiled report on infrastructure progress not only deepens doubts about fairness in governance but also highlights a worrying trend of spreading inaccurate information.

The controversial report, titled “Infrastructure Equity for Every Region, Progress for Every Nigerian; the Renewed Hope Agenda in Action,” was publicized by the federal government as evidence of accountability and nationwide development. However, the ADC dismissed it as nothing more than a propaganda strategy designed to manage growing public discontent.

“Instead of clearing doubts, the government has only exposed itself by presenting manipulated evidence,” Abdullahi stated.

The party further alleged that several projects were wrongly attributed to the wrong regions. For instance:

    • The Damaturu–Maiduguri and Bama–Dikwa roads, both located in Borno State, were listed under the North-West, instead of the North-East.
    • The Lokoja–Okene dualisation in Kogi State and the Benue–9th Mile road, which clearly belong to the North-Central, were also misclassified.

The ADC insists that such misrepresentations raise serious questions about transparency and equity in the distribution of infrastructure projects under the current administration.
