Former England and Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Chelsea’s summer signing Alejandro Garnacho has what it takes to make a big impact at his new club.
The 21-year-old Argentine winger completed a surprising transfer from Manchester United to Chelsea during the summer window — a move that raised eyebrows across the football world.
Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, Scholes explained why he thinks the youngster will fit in perfectly at Stamford Bridge:
“Chelsea are almost the best of the rest under the top three teams, and they needed investment in the right areas. I think Garnacho will be good for them,” Scholes said, addressing Chelsea supporter and influencer Rory Jennings.
“I don’t think he’ll cause any problems in Maresca’s squad. I actually hope he thrives there.”
With Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca looking to reshape his squad and push for a higher finish in the Premier League, Garnacho’s arrival adds both pace and creativity to the attack.
The winger is expected to make his Chelsea debut later this month in their clash against Brentford, and fans will be eager to see how quickly he adapts to life in West London.
For a club aiming to return to the Champions League spots, Garnacho could prove to be a decisive signing this season.
