Nigerian banking giant, First Bank of Nigeria, has confirmed that some of its digital platforms are currently experiencing downtime.

In an official statement released on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the bank explained that the disruption is affecting transactions across FirstMobile, FirstOnline, and USSD banking channels.

According to the bank, customers may encounter delays or declined transactions when trying to transfer funds to other banks.

“Please be informed that we are currently experiencing some downtime affecting transactions to other banks on FirstMobile, FirstOnline, and the USSD Platform. Customers may therefore experience delayed or declined transactions.

We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our team is working with our partners to restore services as quickly as possible, and we will provide updates once services are fully restored,” the statement read.

    What Customers Should Do

    • Retry transactions later if they fail initially.

    • Use alternative payment methods (such as POS terminals or ATM withdrawals) where possible.

    • Stay tuned for updates directly from First Bank’s official social media pages.

The bank reassured customers that its technical team is working urgently with partners to restore normal service.

Jamflash will continue to monitor the situation and provide timely updates as they become available.
