In response to growing security concerns, Nigerian security agencies have intensified anti-kidnapping patrols along the Bwari–Kaduna border, a known hotspot for bandit activities.

According to reports by security analyst Zagazola Makama, armed men suspected to be bandits were recently sighted around Kweri Forest near Gidan Dogo, Kaduna State. This prompted swift action from the Department of State Services (DSS), the Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and local support groups including hunters and vigilantes.

The security teams carried out a coordinated sweep of suspected hideouts and tracks frequently used by the criminals. As part of the operation, a fire drill was conducted in the forest to discourage further infiltration and send a clear warning to criminal elements.

Additionally, the Nigerian Army Guards Brigade has been placed on high alert to provide reinforcements if necessary. Intelligence surveillance is ongoing to monitor the suspected bandits, who are believed to be using the forest as a transit route to larger camps in Kaduna State.

This renewed security push reflects the government’s determination to secure communities along the border and reduce the rising threat of abductions.
