Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has reiterated his commitment to ensuring justice for the 13 travellers who were brutally killed by a mob in Mangun, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, last June. The victims, mostly from Unguwan Dantsoho in Kudan Local Government, were on their way to a wedding in Qua’an Pan when they were attacked.

Speaking during a groundbreaking ceremony for a 6-kilometre road linking Kudan and Sabon Gari local governments, Governor Sani emphasized that protecting lives and property is his foremost responsibility. He assured residents that he would not rest until justice is delivered for the victims and their families.

    Support for Victims’ Families

The Governor recalled that he had earlier promised to provide financial support and housing for the bereaved families—commitments which he confirmed have already been fulfilled. Beyond that, he is now addressing another community need: road infrastructure.

“During my condolence visit, the people complained about the lack of road access. That’s why we are here today, to commence this road project,” he said.

    Long-Awaited Road Development

Kudan Local Government, according to Governor Sani, has not benefited from any road project in the last 12 years. He criticized past politicians for neglecting the area, saying leaders should be ashamed for failing their people despite years of political representation.

    Promises of More Projects

In addition to road construction, Governor Sani announced plans to build a hospital in Unguwan Dantsoho, stressing that the project would begin “as soon as possible.” He also pledged financial support for women in the community, highlighting his administration’s focus on grassroots development.

The Governor took a swipe at politicians who “make noise on television” about state revenue without delivering meaningful projects. “We are not a government of noise makers,” he declared, noting that development must reach both urban and rural areas, since Kaduna State’s resources belong to everyone.

    Call for Peace

Finally, Governor Sani commended residents of Kudan for their peaceful nature and urged them to maintain unity, emphasizing that lasting development can only thrive in an environment of peace.

Jamflash Note: This tragic incident highlights not only the need for justice but also the urgency of development in rural communities across Nigeria. Governor Uba Sani’s proactive steps will be closely watched as the people of Kaduna and Plateau States seek healing and progress.
