Popular American activist and CEO of conservative youth movement Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, was shot on Wednesday during a live event at a Utah college.
According to Turning Point’s Public Relations Manager, Aubrey Laitsch, Kirk was struck in the neck during the program. “We are confirming that he was shot, and we are praying for Charlie,” Laitsch said in a statement.
Footage circulating online shows Kirk addressing a crowd under a tent marked with the slogans “The American Comeback” and “Prove Me Wrong” moments before the attack occurred. The video quickly went viral, drawing shock and concern across social media.
Reacting to the incident, former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his support on Truth Social, writing:
“We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!”
