Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has strongly refuted reports circulating online that linked him to the position of Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).
In a statement shared via his verified X account on Thursday, Fani-Kayode labeled the speculation as fake news. He stressed that he has never had any interest in football management, nor does he intend to pursue any leadership role within the NFA.
“I know nothing about the NFA, I have no interest in the NFA or who leads it. I have not been approached or nominated for such a position by anyone, and if I had, I would have respectfully declined,” he clarified.
The former minister further emphasized that any claims suggesting he was contesting for the position or stepping down in favor of another candidate are completely false and should be disregarded.
To avoid misinformation, he urged the public to confirm any statements attributed to him only through his official website or verified social media accounts on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
