Jamflash News Report — Calm has been restored in Dadu community, located in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following a violent clash between farmers and herders on Friday.

According to reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama, the confrontation began after cattle allegedly strayed into and destroyed a beneseed farm belonging to a resident, Mr. Yunana Garba.

The situation escalated quickly. In the heated exchange, Garba’s son, Yunana Naroka, was struck on the head with a machete, while Garba himself sustained an injury to the neck after being hit with a grazing stick.

A Fulani woman, Amina Abdullahi, also suffered a machete wound on her palm during the altercation.

The injured victims were rushed to Goje Clinic, Ijah, and Abu Fatima Hospital, Kwali, where medical staff confirmed they are currently in stable condition.

To prevent further violence, a combined team of Nigerian Army personnel, Police officers, Department of State Services (DSS) operatives, and local vigilantes swiftly intervened in the community. Their timely action successfully restored calm to the area.

Authorities have assured residents that normalcy has returned, while investigations into the root cause of the clash remain ongoing.

This incident highlights the recurring tensions between farmers and herders across Nigeria, often triggered by disputes over farmland and grazing rights.
