Shooting Stars will be without their goalkeeper, Mustapha Lawal, in today’s highly anticipated Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 4 clash against Rivers United.

Lawal’s absence raised eyebrows as his name was not included in the 20-man traveling squad that made the trip to Port Harcourt for the encounter at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

Interestingly, the club has yet to provide any official reason for his omission.

The shot-stopper, who recently returned from international duty, made his first appearance of the season on Matchday 2 when the Oluyole Warriors squared off against Bendel Insurance.

With Lawal unavailable, the coaching staff has placed their trust in Ozovehe Adeiza and Elkanah Godsgift, the two goalkeepers selected to guard the posts against the Pride of Rivers.

Shooting Stars will be hoping to put up a strong performance despite the absence of their experienced keeper as they lock horns with Rivers United later today.
