Manchester United have announced that their first-choice goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has completed a loan move to Trabzonspor for the 2025/26 season.
The confirmation came on Thursday, just days before United’s highly anticipated Premier League derby clash with Manchester City at Old Trafford.
Onana, 29, joined the Red Devils from Inter Milan in July 2023 and went on to make 102 appearances across all competitions. During his spell in Manchester, he played a pivotal role in the club’s defensive setup and was part of the squad that lifted the 2024 Emirates FA Cup, defeating Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley.
The Cameroonian international will now continue his career in the Turkish Super Lig, where Trabzonspor are looking to strengthen their squad with his experience and agility between the sticks.
United, in their official statement, wished Onana well as he begins this new chapter in Turkey. Fans will no doubt be keeping an eye on his performances abroad while the club focuses on the challenges of the new season.
