In a decisive move against insecurity, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested five notorious and long-wanted bandits. The breakthrough was confirmed in a statement released on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command.

According to the PPRO, the arrest followed an intelligence-driven operation carried out by the Commander of the Scorpion Squad between September 20th and 28th, 2025.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were actively involved in several kidnapping incidents across the North Central, North West, and North East regions of Nigeria. They had also been on the wanted list of both the Police and other security agencies.

The suspects were eventually tracked to Nasarawa State, where they were arrested. They were identified as:

    • Abdullahi Garuba (a.k.a. Alhaji Ore)

    • Yusuf Inuwa (a.k.a. Alhaji Dabunda)

    • David Kaika (a.k.a. Baba)

    • Baba Imaji (female)

    • Ibrahim Nasiru (a.k.a. Pepper)

    During the operation, police recovered:

    • 2,186 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 live ammunition

    • Two AK-47 rifles (serial numbers obliterated)

    • One locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges

    • Five operational motorcycles used by the suspects

All five suspects have confessed to their crimes and will face prosecution after investigations are concluded. Security operatives are also intensifying efforts to track down other gang members who are currently on the run.

Commending the operatives, Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale (psc. mnips.), assured residents that the Police remain fully committed to ridding the FCT and its environs of crime and criminality.

This latest achievement adds to the Command’s ongoing fight to restore peace and security in the nation’s capital.
