A Region Under Siege
Communities across Ifelodun LGA have come under repeated bandit raids in recent weeks, forcing many residents to abandon their ancestral homes in search of safety.
This latest attack comes barely hours after the Kwara State Police Command announced the arrest of three suspected kidnappers in a joint operation carried out on September 26, 2025 at the Babanla-Oreke-Oke-Ode axis.
The suspects, identified as Mohammed Abubakar and Hussein of Tsaragi town, alongside Tukur Ibrahim (a notorious kidnapper), were linked to the invasion of Babanla on August 8, 2025, according to the police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.
Police Response Still Awaited
At the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Kwara State Police spokesperson for an update on the Ogba-Ayo killings were unsuccessful.
The persistent attacks in Kwara highlight the urgent need for stronger community security measures and government intervention to restore peace in Ifelodun LGA and beyond.
