The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has strongly rejected recent claims by the Nigerian Police that one of its alleged camps was dismantled in Anambra State.
According to the police, the reported camp—situated in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area—was said to be operated by the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the security arm of IPOB.
However, in a statement released on Thursday, IPOB’s spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, insisted that the group has no such camp in Anambra or anywhere in the country.
“We have no camp for police to dismantle in Anambra or elsewhere,” the statement read.
IPOB Demands Evidence
IPOB further stated that the Nigerian Police and other security agencies have repeatedly linked them to camps without presenting verifiable evidence. The organization challenged authorities to make such proof public or present it before a court of law.
The group also revealed its willingness to sponsor independent investigative teams to the South-East to verify the truth on the ground.
“Propaganda Cannot Destroy Our Cause” – IPOB
Reaffirming its stance, IPOB maintained that its struggle is based on principles of justice, truth, and self-determination.
“Let it be known: IPOB remains whiter than white. No amount of propaganda can taint our cause, which is rooted in justice, self-determination, and truth,” the statement concluded.
