Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric has issued a stern warning to Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, stating that the player must show greater commitment before being considered for selection again.
Lookman, who was one of Atalanta’s standout performers last season, has not made an appearance for the club this campaign following his attempts to secure a transfer during the summer window.
Ahead of Atalanta’s Serie A clash against Lecce, Juric emphasized that he will not plead with the 26-year-old winger to play for the team. Instead, the coach insisted on working with players who are fully dedicated to wearing the club’s shirt.
Speaking to DAZN, Juric said:
“Lookman in Paris? I think not. The situation is unpleasant and not beautiful. We need ready-made guys who want to give a lot to the shirt.”
This statement also casts doubt on Lookman’s chances of featuring in Atalanta’s upcoming UEFA Champions League showdown against Paris Saint-Germain.
For now, it appears the Bergamo club will focus on players who are fully committed, as Juric continues to build a squad he can rely on both in Serie A and on the European stage.
