A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has disclosed that former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is still open to the idea of rejoining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jibrin made the revelation during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, explaining that Kwankwaso has not ruled out the possibility of working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the APC umbrella.

“As far as that [joining APC] is concerned, he has always maintained that his doors are open, our doors are open for discussions. Everything is a possibility,” Jibrin stated.

When asked whether he would follow Kwankwaso if the former governor decides to leave NNPP, Jibrin emphasized that he is capable of making independent political choices.

This statement has fueled fresh speculations within Nigeria’s political circles, as Kwankwaso remains one of the most influential figures in Kano politics and the northern region at large.
