Nigerian troops have recorded a significant victory against bandit groups operating in Niger State, neutralizing several armed criminals and recovering stolen cattle during a series of coordinated air and ground offensives.
According to security sources, the bandits had earlier attacked villages around Atabo, Zoma, and nearby communities, rustling large herds of cattle before attempting to escape toward Zamfara State.
In response, the Nigerian Armed Forces swiftly deployed air assets and ground troops to intercept the fleeing criminals. Precision airstrikes successfully targeted the armed groups, eliminating several fighters and enabling troops to recover the rustled cattle.
However, the battle did not end there. On Tuesday, reports revealed that surviving bandits attempted to regroup and launch a counteroffensive to reclaim the seized livestock. Nigerian troops engaged them in a follow-up operation, killing more insurgents and effectively dismantling their plan.
This decisive military action has not only safeguarded the affected communities but also reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to combat banditry and restore peace across troubled regions of the country.
