The race to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is heating up, and the Super Eagles are already putting in the work.
On Tuesday, fifteen players took part in the team’s first training session at the main bowl of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The session was conducted under the watchful eyes of head coach Eric Chelle, as the team gears up for their crucial qualifier against Rwanda.
More reinforcements are on the way, with eight additional players set to join the camp on Wednesday. Among those expected are goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, forward Victor Osimhen, winger Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, Cyriel Dessers, Tolu Arokodare, Christantus Uche, and midfielder Raphael Onyedika.
With training set to continue on Wednesday, the coaching crew will have a near-complete squad ready to fine-tune strategies ahead of the matchday seven encounter against Rwanda.
The big clash takes place on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, where the Super Eagles will be aiming for nothing short of victory to strengthen their qualification hopes.
