    The Borno State Police Command has reported the tragic death of an unidentified man whose body was discovered near a transformer located inside the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Borno State.

    According to preliminary investigations, the man is believed to have lost his life while attempting to tamper with or steal electrical components from the transformer.

    Police spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, confirmed that officers, working in collaboration with fire service officials, successfully recovered the body and transferred it to the hospital for further medical examination.

    Meanwhile, the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, has issued a stern warning to individuals engaging in such dangerous and criminal activities. He emphasized that these acts not only endanger the lives of perpetrators but also pose a significant risk to public safety and the stability of critical infrastructure.

    The Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state while urging residents to avoid acts that could lead to tragic consequences.
