Why Abdulmumin Jibrin Wants Tinubu and Kwankwaso to Team Up for Nigeria’s Future

Abdulmumin Jibrin, a prominent member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives from Kano State (Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency), has stirred political discussions with a bold suggestion: President Bola Tinubu and former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, should join forces for Nigeria’s political stability.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Jibrin expressed both admiration and loyalty to President Tinubu. According to him, Tinubu deserves to complete the South’s traditional eight-year presidential cycle, ensuring political fairness between the regions.

“I’m a Tinubu person; he likes me, and I like him,” Jibrin said.
“I will choose Kwankwaso and Bola Tinubu to work together, but Tinubu as president, because I actually believe the South should finish its eight years.”

This statement comes at a time when rumors are circulating about Kwankwaso possibly joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso, a seasoned politician and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, commands an enormous following in Northern Nigeria. His influence could prove vital in bridging the North-South political divide, especially if aligned with Tinubu’s leadership.

For Jibrin, the partnership between these two political heavyweights isn’t just about 2027—it’s about forging a stronger, more united Nigeria.

    Jamflash Insight:
Jibrin’s remarks highlight a key truth about Nigerian politics: alliances shape outcomes. A Tinubu–Kwankwaso partnership could potentially balance power, calm tensions, and rally both northern and southern voters under one strong coalition.
